Since this is my first experience with blogging I thought an explanation was warranted. I am a classroom teacher that would like to encourage discussions about literature. I would like to use this as a literature circle of sorts. I would like to invite my students to communicate and comment about the current literature that we read as a whole class. Further, I would like to provide those students that may otherwise not feel comfortable commenting or questioning what they are reading opportunities to do so. In addition, offer a forum in which students can have discussions that pertain to literature they are currently reading as part of a literature circle.

I think the idea of blogging for literature circles will be exciting for your students. When you decide to implement this idea, please search the Internet for blogging resources. Many book clubs have set up blogs around specific books. They will be able to offer you tips for a smooth implementation in your classroom.
